Anything and everything ‘seems fruitless’ until………
……there is fruit.
We do not give up on the newly planted orange tree when it does not immediately show signs of fruit because we know that it takes three to five years to mature and produce.
We EXPECT the reward, the fruit, in the future if we wait.
Have you ‘planted’ and are still waiting to see any sign of results?
Do NOT uproot or chop it down. Do not neglect or stop tending to it. Keep watering.
“Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.” Galatians 6:9
AND in light of Jesus saying to His disciples in John 4:38,
“I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored and you have entered into their labor”
there may be times when we have to obediently continue ‘laboring’ without ever seeing the results. Someone else will reap what we have sown, but be encouraged that there will be harvest.
You can be sure that no act of obedience to the Lord is ever wasted (no matter what your physical eyes see).
Lord, let us see with your ‘eyes of faith’ and
keep moving forward.
