“…they commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus. But Peter and John answered and said to them, ‘Whether it is right in the sight of God to give heed to you rather than to God, you be the judge; for we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.” Acts 4:18,19
There is an enemy at work who knows and understands the power of the gospel (Romans 1:16):
the power that not only effects a life for all eternity, but also radically infuses power into the daily here and now (Eph. 1:18,19), effecting every life that precious one touches.
So, of course, Satan does not want that good news proclaimed or the truth taught, and thus he attempts to silence us.
May we not heed the devil’s feeble threats (1 Peter 5:8,9) and the fears and vain speculations (2 Cor. 10:5 NASB) of how awkward or offended we may make someone feel if we love them with
the only true source of Life and Love and Hope and Peace and Mercy
which they are desperately searching for.
May we not listen to the enemy who would like to convince us to “speak no longer to any man in this name,” but rather may this be our ‘song’:
“..we cannot stop speaking about what we have seen and heard.”
Sow the ‘seed’
“to open their eyes so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who have been sanctified by faith in Me.” Acts 26:18
