It is a lofty opinion raised up against the knowledge of God and the loving mission He has placed upon us to think that we must keep silent, saying nothing that would be offensive (to a world that is extremely offended), and keep to ourselves our beliefs and what Scripture clearly proclaims as truth (2 Cor. 10:5).
We must not fall for the schemes of the enemy (2 Cor. 2:11).
On the contrary, we must stand firm against those schemes (Eph. 6:11).
We have weapons of warfare that are divinely powerful to destroy the speculations and vain imaginations that make us fearful. We are to, and are enabled to, take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Cor. 10:3,4,5).
And God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness (cowardice or timidity), but “of power and of love and of calm and well balanced mind and discipline and self control” (2 Timothy 1:7 Amplified).
May we live from that place of strength and not back down, but rather pray and speak freely.
Pray against ‘the spirit of offense’ that whispers that everything of God is ‘offensive and must be put to a stop’. This ‘offendedness’ is a great ploy of the enemy, as what is deemed as offensive is exactly that which has the power to save (Romans 1:16). Therefore it must be freely spoken in truth¹.
May we love people enough to speak the truth in love (Eph.4:14,15,16).
We must not give way to fear.
May we put on our armor (Eph 6:13-20),
take the authority we have in Jesus Christ,
use our weapons of warfare (not forgetting that we are in a battle– Eph.6:12),
be filled with the Holy Spirit, and speak the word of God with boldness (Acts 4:31).
