Do We Need to Reconsider How We Approach a Holy God?

“Therefore, brethren, since we have confidence to enter the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way which He inaugurated for us through the veil, that is, His flesh,……let us draw near with a sincere (true) heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.” Hebrews 10:19-22

I am holy and am to be treated as holy.

I am serious, and you cannot be too serious about Me.

When will My people lay down the excuses, stop turning My loving grace into licentiousness (Jude 1:4), and begin to approach a holy God in fear and reverence (fully acknowledging and truly realizing in the depths of their being that they are approaching the Loving, Holy, Righteous Creator of the whole universe Who does have the right to rule and reign and have the final say in all of life)?

This is when they will realize My power and My Presence.  I will meet them there.

When My people lay down the ‘false familiarity’, I will rush in with truth, with doctrine that conforms with godliness (1 Tim. 6:3) and IS powerful towards you…not in word only, but in power (1 Cor. 4:20, 1 Thess. 1:5, 2 Tim. 3:5).

“..For the kingdom of God does not consist in words but in power.” 1 Cor. 4:20

“As obedient children do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy.'” 1 Peter 1:14,15,16

  • Love this. I’ve just been thinking about this. Basically, people think their mercy trumps God’s mercy. They don’t understand holiness. Or God’s supremacy. And they don’t know holiness means function and God is the most healthy, functioning being in the universe without one flaw in Him.

Love what you’re saying: don’t be wicked “in your ignorance” but by now, you should be fully mature in Him… growing up into the full maturity of Christ. Ephesians 4:13, 14 “Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of people in their deceitful scheming.”
