From God’s Heart: Who Gets to Lower My Standard?

“..pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, perseverance and gentleness. Fight the good fight of faith;…” 1 Timothy 6:11

I am worth more, not less.  More of your time, heart, attention, desire, pursuit.

You are blessed as you give more, and you cheat yourself with less.

Who gets to lower My standard?

Since when did lowering My standard become the good news of the gospel and ‘grace’?

No, shall it never be.  Instead “Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15

That means ‘to make every effort to do one’s best, to be eager, earnest’.¹

And grace is the power provided to successfully make that earnest effort.

Grace, “when received by faith, transforms man and causes him to love and to seek after the righteousness of God. Charis” (the English transliteration of the Greek word for grace) “is initially regeneration, the work of the Holy Spirit in which spiritual life is given to man and by which his nature is brought under the dominion of righteousness.”¹

“If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing…” 1 Timothy 6:3,4

“…discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it hold promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:7,8

Be and do.  Live a radical life of obedience empowered by the Spirit of God.

“..seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:3

Obedience (obeying God)= LOVE (loving God)-John 14:15,21,23.

Want to follow Me? Love people and……

…………do what you want?/whatever you think ‘loving’ is?    NO.

Come. deny yourself. take up your cross. and follow Me. (Luke 9:23)

where “there is nowhere to lay your head,” (Matt. 8:19,20)

in other words, ‘No, it’s not EASY.’

But..

Obedience = SUCCESS. (Joshua 1:7,8, Ps. 1:1-3)

And how will you know HOW to be obedient?

STUDY THE WORD.

And listen to Me.

“For Ezra had set his heart to study the law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.” Ezra 7:10

…….study, practice, and teach….

“These things speak and exhort and reprove with all authority. Let no one disregard you.” Titus 2:15

From God’s Heart: To Know Me and Walk in Confidence

Your faith belongs in nothing or no one else but Me.

I LOVE faith so much that I allow it to be tested

so that it goes to a deeper level in My kid’s souls,

that it becomes a part of their very bones and marrow,

that they begin to automatically LIVE by it.

You will walk in confidence

in Who you KNOW, know, know Me to be.

And sometimes this confidence comes by walking through the ‘fire’ (1 Peter 1:6,7).

The fire is where all other false notions and assumptions (those that placate souls and make My people weak and listless) are burned away- so that only what is true and trustworthy remains.

I AM= bottom line

I LOVE= bottom line

I care= period.

This is what you need to know, and it will make you move forward in bold confidence.

“to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge..” Eph. 3:19

Take ground in the land of the living (Ps. 27:13).

You will go forth in rejoicing and have peace.

You will be strong and courageous,

and your ‘default’ will be to call on My name (you will not fall for any previous ‘defaults’).

Be strong and take courageous action (Joshua 1:9).

Draw near to Me, and I will draw near to you (James 4:8).

Do not neglect any of My benefits..take them..they are yours.. battle FOR them… and live life abundant..full of faith, with weapons of righteousness for the right hand and the left (2 Cor. 6:7).

Remember that everything seems ‘fruitless’ until there is fruit. (click here for more on this thought)

Be ACTIVELY patient.. give Me no rest, which reminds you where (in Whom) your hope for change is from.

“Wait for the Lord;

Be strong and let your heart take courage;

Yes, wait for the LORD.” Psalm 27:14

Don’t Stop Praying

Elijah could have heard the report of “a cloud as small as a man’s hand” and been discouraged (1 Kings 18:42-45).

That’s not to mention how he could have previously already stopped praying, as time and time the report was, “There is nothing.”

Nothing!

Elijah could have been discouraged and could have fallen into hopelessness and stopped praying because he didn’t see the full results..

but he didn’t..

Likewise, give your heart permission to take the smallest, littlest of signs AS positive results.
Give your heart permission to rejoice in what no one else ‘sees’.
Give your heart permission to hope.

And hope does not disappoint (Romans 5:5).

-What have you given up on (or are currently tempted to give up on) that God is now speaking to your heart and encouraging you to take courage and believe in His ability?

Don’t stop praying.

Believe.

As Jesus said, “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.” John 14:1

Take Heart at the Smallest of Signs

You have seen growth and progress,

but your heart cries, “Where is the fruit?”

Fix your eyes on the horizon.  Look up and watch for it.

In answer to prayer, praise Me at the first sight (the first report) of the smallest of ‘results’.

“..Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he crouched down on the earth and put his face between his knees. He said to his servant, ‘Go up now, look toward the sea.’

So he went up and looked and said, ‘There is nothing.’

And he said, ‘Go back’ seven times.

It came about at the seventh time, that he said, ‘Behold, a cloud as small as a man’s hand is coming up from the sea.’

And he said, ‘Go up, say to Ahab, “Prepare your chariot and go down, so that the heavy shower does not stop you.”

In a little while the sky grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy shower.” 1 Kings 18:42-45

Choose to take heart at the smallest of signs, just as Elijah was encouraged in his spirit with the news of a cloud the size of a man’s hand (1 Kings 18:41-46) in answer to his prayer for rain.

Look up and watch.

Ask Me to open your eyes to see the deep work that is being accomplished.

Ask Me for a joyful heart that fully experiences the hope of small beginnings-

rejoicing that I AM moving,

that I do hear,

that I am ABLE.

And though it tarry, wait..

Don’t walk away.
Don’t give up hope.

Hope in Me.

Put your trust where trust belongs

and watch and wait..
rejoicing

(choose to rejoice)

even at the smallest of signs.
