Be Holy

From the Father’s Heart for you:

It is My story. And you are a part of it.

I invite you in. You are called, beloved, kept (Jude 1:1), chosen, and deeply LOVED.

But beware of slipping into thinking that it ALL revolves around you.  It still always and forever revolves around Me.

Guarding this correct perspective actually relieves a lot of unnecessary pressure upon yourself and guards against the deceitfulness of crippling pride (James 4:6).

Listen to Me and take heed to My Word of truth.

There is a call to holiness,

to laying down your life (not keeping it),

to denying yourself (not living for your own pleasures),

to please Me in all respects (rather than pleasing PEOPLE). (Mark 8:34,35, Col. 1:10)

Holiness means ‘set apart unto Me.’

Answering the call will be somewhat like living as an alien and stranger in this world, often being slandered (1 Pet. 2:11,12), and yes, probably a misfit at times.

But it is worth it! And I offer peace and joy and authority and power in the midst of it all.

“As obedient children, do not be conformed to the former lusts which were yours in your ignorance, but like the Holy One who called you, be holy yourselves also in all your behavior; because it is written, ‘You shall be holy, for I am holy’.”* 1 Peter 1:14,15,16

*Holy (40) hagios. Holy, set apart, sanctified, consecrated, saint. Its fundamental idea is separation, consecration, devotion to the service of Deity, sharing in God’s purity and abstaining from earth’s defilement. Metaphorically it means morally pure, upright, blameless in heart and life, virtuous, holy. (Zodiates. The Complete Word Study Dictionary.)
