“What do you ‘want’?”
It has been a clarifying question that I have been hearing the Lord ask my heart lately (and I wrote about it here and most recently in a small series that begins here).
But my answer a month ago to this question led to me to this write31days series.
“I want time in Your Word, in Your Presence, and to hear Your voice everyday and THEN I want to DO with it what You call me to.
That’s my want: You, You, and You, and to pour You out!
I want to truly RECEIVE You and Your love in a way that makes me BRAVE and unafraid to do Your will.
The fear of man is a snare, it lays a snare (Prov. 29:25), and I so readily fall into that snare,
BUT (so here’s the answer to that fear of man)
whoever TRUSTS in the Lord is safe…
He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him (Prov. 30:5).”
I desire
To be able to stand firm because I stand on this heart knowledge of the truth and joy of being LOVED and then do ministry from that platform of strength (which is written about here).
To BE in a place that because I know and receive and TRUST the Father’s love and have My focus on eternity (rather than on the here and now), I can speak bold truth in that love, not afraid of man, ‘my inner critic’, nor the enemy’s voice that sometimes whispers (but most often shouts), ‘Who do you think you are?’ along with the threat, ‘People will only hate and reject you.’
Oh, to be made bold with strength in my soul! (Ps 138:3) and to live with Paul’s attitude of full abandonment “according to my earnest expectation and hope, that I will not be put to shame in anything, but that with all boldness (by fearless courage), Christ will even now, AS ALWAYS, be exalted in my body, whether by life or death” Phil. 1:20.
And because truly basking in the Father’s love is the answer and because I need it, the idea of this series emerged and day 1 and 2 of the 31 days were written.
Ps. 27:3
“Though a host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I shall be confident.”…..
…..because He loves me, and He gives me fearless courage and makes me bold with strength in my soul as I call out and depend upon Him.
Oh Lord, make us BRAVE.
May we hear and DO (act upon) Your truth (Luke 4:46-48, 8:21, James 1:22)
and KNOWING You (through a true knowledge of You-2 Peter 1:3),
go do exploits (display strength and TAKE ACTION -Dan. 11:32b).
“..fulfill your ministry.” 2 Tim. 4:5
(I was reminded of this yesterday as I read Luke 4, and wrote about that here.)
