The Power of Childlike Faith

“God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity we plan to do only the things we can do by ourselves.” A.W. Tozer

“On the day I called, You answered me;
You made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3

From the Father’s Heart:

My child, My child. That title doesn’t make you “little”. It makes you powerful.

You are called a child of God (1 John 3:1), which not only gives you access (Hebrews 4:16,10:19) to Me and to all you need (2 Peter 1:3- even what you are not aware that you need), but it also provides you with authority, inheritance, and a bold confidence.*

All that lasts and is real, is done by abiding in Me (John 15:4,5), in dependence upon Me, in the exact positioning you have as My child in childlike faith (Mark 10:15). You know, children can believe in the impossible; they do not necessarily think reasonably and rationally. And see, I’m not reasonable or rational (according to your limited human perspective).

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

“Reasonably” and “rationally” are not how I work. So you can lay down any resistance you feel to what I am currently doing, where you have determined that the way I am leading you is not reasonable, rational, or possible. That’s the very “space” I move in. So it doesn’t have to make sense. Just trust and know that I am leading you.

And leading you I am.

The “knowing what to do” is like a light burning brightly within you. Ask yourself, “Why do I want to extinguish it? What am I afraid of?” Where does the distrust that I can lead you and that you can trust My leadership come from? Find out and let’s “work” there.  Because if you can extinguish that low-level, quiet, distrust instead, you will find a spacious place of freedom to walk in.

And you will walk in bold confidence in who I say that you are and how I am ABLE to lovingly lead you through what seems impossible and improbable.

Even as you read this, there is a sweet taste of it, a sense of “yes, that is possible”
to live in that sweet spot of
belief
and trust
and confidence,
following as I lead you as an overcomer (Romans 8:31-39).

-What has God recently asked you to do that you have deemed unreasonable and irrational?
-Press in and ask Him to grow “mustard seed faith” in you (Luke 17:6).

“For the Lord will be (at your side) your confidence.” Prov. 3:26

“Though a host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I shall be confident.” Ps 27:3

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,
But the righteous are bold (confident) as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1

*Confidence (3954) Greek word- parresia- Freedom or frankness in speaking. NT meanings: freedom in speaking all that one thinks or pleases; confidence or boldness, particularly in speaking; freedom, liberty. Especially in Hebrews and 1 John the word denotes confidence which is experienced with such things as faith in communion with God, fulfilling the duties of the evangelist, holding fast our hope, and acts which entail a special exercise of faith. Parresia is possible as the result of guilt having been removed by the blood of Jesus… and manifests itself in confident praying and witnessing.
