All the Change that Your Heart Desires

From the Heart of God:

am high and lifted up – above all the noise. Quiet the noise so you can hear Me. I am above it all. Many times, even “the good stuff” is noise – worship, podcasts, news, sermons, etc. It’s noisy and is a “settling”. It’s settling for breadcrumbs. Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest for your souls. Come to your source of life.

Come higher. Lift your gaze. Require My Presence as your greatest need, and it will be Me you find – the healer, restorer, and strength of your soul (of your very being). There is so much more – so much to partake of. Stop filling yourself with lesser things. Man does not live on bread alone (or good books, talks, teaching, sermons, podcasts) but man does live on every word that proceeds from My mouth. So, come and hear. Partake of My word that fills and satisfies every longing. Come for meat and sustenance.

The noise of this world is taking up too much space and ruining appetites – appetites that are meant to be filled by Me alone, and I will not give My glory to any other. I am first, the last, and all the in between. Come and feast. Be filled, and never get your fill. There is MORE, MORE, MORE, and it will CHANGE you. All the change that your heart desires, this is where it is found, found always, is found. Come and keep coming. Seek and keep seeking.

“You have said, Seek My face [inquire for and require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face (Your presence), Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word].” Psalm 27:8 Amplified Bible

Come. Come for yourself. It’s not selfish or self-seeking. It’s obeying. Come. Eat. Take your bread. You are worth My feeding (said with a smile – a knowing smile full of love). You are worth My dying and worth My feeding and building up and My sustenance and strength. You, personally, are “the one”. I come after the one. It’s my way. Do you think it’s only “other ones”, “other wayward ones”? I come for you. I won’t give up on you. It’s why you still hear the call and tug on your heart. My callings are irrevocable. I have a plan to use you. Yield and be moldable and pliable. I will protect you. Take off the armor that is built of fear and reasoning and overthinking and vigilant alertness, and put on My armor that will truly protect you, make you strong, resolute, and able to take great risks because you trust that nothing can harm you.

Faith Up!

“I will give heed to the blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart. I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; It shall not fasten its grip on me.” Psalm101:2, 3

Amplified Bible:“I hate the work of them who turn aside [from the right path]; it shall not grasp hold of me.”

From God’s heart:
Heed well. Heed the call. Heed the warnings. Take note of the signs. For there is a great falling out, a falling away, a time of great confusion where eyes will need to be set on Me and hearts need to be planted in the truth of My word and My love so that what is produced in and through your life is truly of Me and not from fear (of man, the fear of this world, or eyes set on the troubling times). Have your whole heart buried in the good soil of My truth – My word – in what I say, not what you feel. Set a guard. Guard yourself. Meditate on truth. Let Me even today and each day feed it to you; partake fully, and believe. Allow what I say to truly become part of who you are – down into joint and marrow. And live. Abide in My Word – let My Word abide in you. Taste and see that I am good and My sovereignty reigns supreme over all. I can be trusted. And I will be trusted. Cling to Me as the waistband clings to the waist of a man. Cinch it tight. Armor up. And you take the shield of FAITH (build it every single day) and extinguish the flaming arrows – not only for yourself but extinguish them so that others aren’t caught on fire by the enemy’s fiery darts. Let’s snuff out the lies and malice. Stop the infection. Be strong in the Lord and the strength of His might.

“Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though some strange thing were happening to you; but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of HIs glory you may rejoice with exultation. If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you.” 1 Peter 4:12-14
Dark days are ahead. But look up. Your redemption is drawing near. Look to the clouds. Rain is on the horizon.* Eyes up. Why be downcast, O soul? Trust. Trust in the Lord God Almighty who is mighty to save.

Be saved and not surprised by the fiery ordeal. Be about building your shield of faith FOR the working of mighty miracles.
Many needs will call for many miracles. You are in position; don’t take yourself out. Be bold. Fully Mine. Abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
Trust in the power of My name and do exploits, Church.
It’s quite an opportunity.
Don’t choose to be safe and perish. Choose to battle and have the most exciting time of your life. Hear the call. Respond. And work miracles.
 You will speak to the storm, and it will be stilled.
Affect your sphere; that’s the call right there.

Don’t choose to watch from the sidelines. Run the play and do your job. Do your job and run the play. Be effective and affect those your life touches everyday.

“‘These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.'” John 16:33
Daniel 11:32b “… but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” (KJV)

Jeremiah 13:11 Amplified Bible (AMP) “‘For as the waistband clings to the body of a man, so I caused the whole house of Israel and the whole house of Judah to cling to Me,’ says the LORD, ‘that they might be for Me a people, a name, a praise, and a glory; but they did not listen and obey.'”

“So choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants, by loving the Lord your God, by obeying His voice, and by holding fast to Him; for this is your life and the length of your days,…” Deuteronomy 30:19, 20

I have come to pour faith upon the earth. Will you partake of it? Or will you stubbornly cling to your fear? Faith in Me – and that anything is possible – is here for the taking, like a shield and a sword to take up. Will you? Will you enter the battle? There is a war. Be in it to win it. The stakes are high. Will you submit yourself to the battle plan and follow Me?
Be battle ready. First, full armor really, really on. Prepared. Know the truth like the back of your hands – have it always before you. Shield up. Faith HIGH – true faith in the God of the impossible. (Yes, have your hopes up, but this is a specific call to have your faith up!) Fight for that in yourself to begin with. Find your “legs” – train yourself to stand and to bow to none other. Bow to Me alone. Obey only My voice – not the voice of fear, compromise, or normalcy. Seek My presence. War is coming. There can be no compromise.

Hi Friends,

May we KNOW Him and have peace!

Be in the Word daily. Be in prayer. Listen to Him speak to your heart. And obey. He fully enables us to do what He calls us to. Obedience that is effective can only be done as we abide in Him. Learn to abide.

Abide and cling tightly in full dependence and grow deeper in relationship with God the Father, Jesus the Son, and Holy Spirit. Relationship.

Ask the Lord how He would specifically have you build up your shield of faith. Maybe it’s more worship music during your day to be built up in adoration of the “author and perfector of your faith” or meditating on and memorizing scripture. There is a real call, as always, to know truth and to be discerning in ways that come from time in prayer and reading the whole counsel of God and studying to know Him and His ways deeper every day.

I’ll share again my favorite bible reading plan. It is a chronological reading plan that leads you through the Bible in a year. God is For You

“If God is for us, who can be against us?”
“Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?”
Romans 8:31b NASB, AMP

From God’s Heart:

I am for you, not against you. And with Me for you, what does it matter if someone is against you? So what?

Who can be against you? This is one sense of that truth: who? who that means anything or matters in any way? Who? If I am for you and leading you and you are following Me in obedience, what does it matter if someone doesn’t agree with you or even openly opposes you?

“The Lord is for me; I will not fear;
What can man do to me?” Psalm 118:6

Having this “so what?” attitude and settled-ness of mind and spirit will so free up My people – free them to follow Me fully and to do My will in the midst of this “perverse generation” (Acts 2:40).

“The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever leans on, trusts in, and puts his confidence in the Lord is safe and set on high.” Proverbs 29:25 AMP

Come. Be My disciple. Deny yourself (your reputation), take up your cross (be misunderstood, rejected, and even hated because of My name- Matt. 10:22), and follow Me (which is truly your heart’s desire and delight) -Matthew 16:24.

Just follow. Be Spirit-led. And trust Me with any and all outcomes (the good and the bad). It’s all okay as you obey My voice. Be true to My Word and find your firm footing (Psalm 143:10 NLT). All else is shifting sand, and you see it shifting quite quickly, don’t you? My Word will remain. It endures forever (1 Peter 1:25). Be diligent, that you may handle the Word accurately (2 Tim. 2:15). It’s not a “hard” instruction. Instead, it is very centering and rewarding as you hone into your purpose: to know Me deeper and walk in a newness of life, in a manner worthy of your calling. This obedience is not a heavy load of bondage; it is a freeing abundance of life. Choose life: love Me, obey My voice, and cling to Me (Deut. 30:19,20). It’s all that simple. Simply simple. Don’t overcomplicate it. Just follow Me.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God as a workman who does not need to be ashamed, accurately handling the word of truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 NASB

“Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing (rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.” 2 Timothy 2:15 AMP

Friends, this assignment from 2 Timothy is going to take some work and a plan. How will you plan to do this in the new year? How will you make sure it’s in your year’s goals? May we accurately handle the word of truth, knowing that God Himself is for us. And knowing that this is the most important thing – God With Us, Immanuel, and for us – so that we are not tossed here and there by anyone who comes against us or disagrees with us or is offended. May we know the truth, contend earnestly for it (Jude 1:3), and walk in courage and boldness in the Holy Spirit as we “go and make disciples…teaching them to observe all” that He has commanded (Matt. 28:19, 20). May we be compelled forth by Paul’s testimony: “…I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole purpose of God” (Acts 20:26,27).

“…and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:20 – This truth is the difference maker.

“The Lord is for me; I will not fear;
What can man do to me?
The Lord is for me among those who help me;
Therefore I will look with satisfaction on those who hate me.
It is better to take refuge in the Lord
Than to trust in man.” Psalm 118:6-8
“In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?” Psalm 56:11

“When I am afraid,
I will put my trust in You.
In God, whose word I praise,
In God have put my trust;
I shall not be afraid.
What can mere man do to me?
All day long they distort my words;
All their thoughts are against me for evil.
They attack, they lurk
They watch my steps,
As they have waited to take my life.” Psalm 56:3-6

Prayer: “Oh Lord, let me fear You and fear no man!”

This simple prayer and living in its answer would fix so much in our lives. It really would.

Let us today choose whom we will serve (Joshua 24:15).

Whom will you bow to?

We Can Trust the God of this Universe

“Whoever is wise, let him understand these things;
Whoever is discerning let him know them.
For the ways of the Lord are right,
And the righteous will walk in them,
but transgressors will stumble in them.” Hosea 14:9

From the Father’s Heart:

I am the Lord God of the whole universe. Nothing is out of My reach. Nothing is too far gone that I can’t fix.

But My fix does not (as you know from My word) often look like you’d expect. So, trust Me. Readjust your expectation and thinking, and TRUST that I am sovereignly in control and have (and have always had) a plan for the ages. You don’t have to worry about those who are playing the long game, because I have always had all of time in My hands and in mind. So, My people can trust Me no matter what their eyes may see or even how things look.

 I am The Truth that spiritual eyes can see.

So, look.

Encourage people to look. Look there. Look into My beautiful face. Look to The Word and find courage. Come to the throne and receive mercy and find grace and hope and peace that is REAL. My peace is so much more real than the perceived chaos and the trouble of this world. Remember My promises.

In this world you will have trouble, but take heart “I have overcome the world”. This truth is going to be more and more a comfort and encouragement- a courage builder. And you need courage. You need to know that you are not only on the right side, you are on the winning side in Me.

Oh, take heart, My people.

Be bold and unafraid and unashamed and obedient. Hear, and act (Matthew 7:26).

I Am that I Am.

Abound in hope today and every day.

“…let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” Hebrews 4:16

“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” Romans 15:13

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

“May the God of peace be with you all. Amen.” Romans 15:33

Take courage!

You Are a Worker in the Plentiful Harvest

From the Father’s Heart:

Produce change. You are a worker in the harvest, and producing change is in your job description.

Let Me use you.

Abide in the vine, partaking of all you need, and let Me and My life-giving sustenance flow through your life just naturally, even unknowingly

Live by the Spirit, and you won’t live ruled by the flesh (Gal. 5:16).

Let Me have My way. Listen and obey the quiet promptings: you know, the ones you too often disregard and instead do what you think is “reasonable” and “rational”.

Seek My face and require My presence* as your greatest need, and I will be found, meaning I will be with you, in power – not just in word, but in deeds. Be being filled, and pour out.

“Holy Spirit, lead me today. Because each day of following Your lead will add up to getting real things done.”

“… our gospel did not come to you in word only, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction; just as you know what kind of men we proved to be among you for your sake. You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word in much tribulation with the joy of the Holy Spirit, so that you became an example to all the believers…” 1 Thessalonians 1:4-7

 *I included a few links if you want to read more on these subjects, and the third one is such a timely reminder!

What The Lord Can Suddenly Get Done

“Then they were quite willing and glad for Him to come into the boat. And now the boat went at once to the land they had steered toward. [And immediately they reached the shore toward which they had slowly been making their way.]” John 6:21 Amplified Bible

From the Heart of God:

I will take you beyond any current fear or doubt and then beyond the next. Past one “rock” or “boulder” or even “mountain” at a time. Only focus on the faith needed for the next step, and you’ll be amazed at where “WE” (together) suddenly are

Don’t romanticize the way things were and make them out to be something that they were not. Don’t long for what was, as if nothing ahead can be as good. Face the past in truth. And look forward in hope, faith, and trust.

KNOW that I Am a God of the “beyond”, the God of impossibilities. Nothing is too difficult for Me. No, nothing (Ephesians 3:20, Matthew 19:26, Jeremiah 32:17).

“The sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing. Then, when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near to the boat; and they were frightened. But He said to them, ‘It is I; do not be afraid.’ So they were willing to receive Him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land to which they were going.” John 6:18-21

Some of you may feel like you have been making your way to a desired destination for a long time now. Then “strong winds” have erupted and stirred up circumstances to make your journey even more difficult. I wonder if perhaps this passage may speak to your heart today – if there will be a moment when you take notice, see, and recognize Jesus in the midst of what you are currently working hard to accomplish and will be willing to “receive Him into your boat” and experience what only He can do (even if He shows up in a way that makes you afraid).

He is more than able to handle anything that concerns us today. He is also able to calm the winds and the seas and make them perfectly calm (Matt. 8:26) – even the storms inside our thoughts and emotions. Allow Him.

Take time with the Lord and ask what it looks like for you to “receive Him into your boat” today? Is there a task at hand that you have been working hard at and are in need of His Presence, which changes everything? “I am with you” is the answer to all our fears, doubts, and seemingly impossible tasks.

Take it all to Him in prayer.

(You can read more about His with-ness being the Difference Maker here.)

Where to Look for the Answer

 “Lord, what is on Your heart? What are You saying?”
I am Lord and ruler of all. Follow Me to a place of sweet victory and bold courage in victory. I always have a plan. I always know the way. So why, pray tell, do you worry and expend so much energy trying to figure things out and making your own plans.
Just follow Me. Pray to the Lord of the harvest. Prayer is your first action (not your last!). Pray. You are not begging Me to work but aligning your heart in faith of what only I can accomplish as you pray. Prayer puts your heart in position and puts the hearts you are trying to reach in position. Do not neglect the power.
Do not neglect the power of prayer. Pray to the Lord who in secret knows all and has all the answers.
Ask yourself and answer honestly:
Where are you looking for the answer?
Who are you looking to for direction, for the next step, for the solution?
Look up! From where does your help come? Your help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth.
“I will lift up my eyes to the mountains;
From where shall my help come?
My help comes from the LORD,
Who made heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip;
He who keeps you will not slumber.
Behold, He who keeps Israel
Will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD is your keeper;
The LORD is your shade on your right hand.
The sun will not smite you by day,
Nor the moon by night.
The LORD will protect you from all evil;
He will keep your soul.
The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in
From this time forth and forever.”
Psalm 121
This is a portion from a journal entry on 7/4/21.

Nothing is Too Difficult

From the Heart of God:

I make a way when and where there is no way.

I am the Creator of all. So, nothing is too difficult for Me. Stop making things “difficult” and seeing them as insurmountable. I can do in a moment what should take days, months, years. I am ABLE. Don’t lose sight of My ability, My power, and My purpose.

My purposes will be fulfilled and not on “flowery beds of ease”; that is not the pattern or way you see in My Word, so why are you expecting it all to be easy? Suffer hardship as a good soldier (2 Timothy 2:3). Do not give into despair or hopelessness. No. See all you have been given to win the war. Put on the armor, take up the weapons, and fight the good fight (1 Timothy 6:12). You are fully equipped. Just don’t lose sight of the mission.

What is the mission? Souls. Snatch them out of the kingdom of darkness and bring them into this marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).

So, let us each ask ourselves, “How am I going about that business?”

The above was written in my journal on Oct. 27, 2021 and is a good reminder as we head into a new year of unknowns. He knows. He goes before us. He has always known and has not ever been “nervous” or “worried” about how it’s going to all pan out; therefore, neither should we. Each time I have read this as I’ve decided if this is the week for this post to go out, I have been deeply encouraged by the weight and hope and encouragement of these words. I pray that you experience the same.I know that many are entering this new year in hard times and with many unknowns and questions. I pray God would use this encouragement to give you peace in the midst of it.

As we entered 2020 I heard the Lord say, “I am on My throne.”

This encouragement is still true. He is enthroned above it all.

“The Lord has established His throne in the heavens,
And His sovereignty rules over all.” Psalm 103:19

And here’s one last thing I want to share today. As I was getting this post together and looking up some of the bible references to note those, I wondered about the “flowery beds of ease”. I looked and it is not a bible verse but from a hymn that, interestingly enough (God is so sweet to confirm things), also includes the idea of being a soldier. The lyrics of Am I a Soldier of the Cross were written by Dr. Isaac Watts in 1709, to follow a sermon on 1 Cor. 16:13.

Isaiah 43 would also be a good read to accompany this devotional this week. Press forward! I would love to hear some of your plans and/or goals for the new year.

Bless you,
