Give the Answer

“…the [uncompromisingly] righteous are bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1 Amplified Bible

Take the bold confidence

in who He is,
in who He has made you to be,
how He has gifted you,
and who and what He calls you to be and do.

And move forward.

Depend completely upon Him

and take risks.

Think of others more highly than yourself (Philippians 2:3-8) so that you reach out in LOVE rather than shrink back in fear to protect yourself (Acts 20:26, 27).

Continually ask Jesus, “What are you doing here, in this place, with this person?” and do what He is doing. Join Him on mission.

You have so much to GIVE.

Partake, rise up, and give it out.

People are spiritually famished and starving, and you have THE Hope and the Bread of Life, Jesus (John 6:35).

You have the Answer.

“Jesus said, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'” John 14:6

Depend upon and abide in Him (John 15), walking in the same way in which He walked (1 John 2:6), and draw men unto Him. Shine for His glory.  In Christ, you have been made new (2 Corinthians 5:17) and have been entrusted with that message and ministry of reconciliation for others (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

As His child and at His leading, you have His permission, His anointing, and His commissioning.

Hear Him say, “Go.”

Go harvest.

(Matthew 9:37, 38- be the answer to that prayer).

Deny yourself (Luke 9:23).

With a deep dependence (which He loves to meet head on), follow where He leads.

Deny yourself the ‘luxury’ of giving into your fears or hang ups,

Do what He says.

The recipe for an abundant life can be summed up in that one statement.

May we go do so. Today.

“I have come that you may have life and have it abundantly,” said Jesus, our Good Shepherd (John 10:10).

May we trust His leading. It is truly where we will find rest.

-Do you truly know this freedom for yourself: that you are a new creature, that the old is gone and the new has come (2 Cor. 5:17) and now consider yourself dead to sin and alive to God (Romans 6:11,13)?  If so, you are called, beloved, and kept (Jude 1:1) and have a specific calling upon your life. Spend some time with Him today dreaming and asking Him about all that your calling entails. What are steps towards fulfilling your purpose that He is calling you today? What steps can you take in that direction?

-Ask Him to open your eyes to see who is in your path today that you can reach out to in the love of Jesus and share the truth of Jesus Christ (or someone you may need to even write, text, or send an email).

-Who did you hear? and resolve now to take action. Ask Him exactly what that person needs from Him.  And be bold to follow through.

May we be able to say, like Paul, “..I am innocent of the blood of all, for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God.” Acts 20:26, 27

Bold Confidence for God-Sized Tasks

“On the day I called, you made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3

May you be encouraged today in BOLD confidence to run past any FEAR and go do God-sized tasks.

Don’t wait for the day when you feel fully equipped.

You will forever have that excuse, that fear, that hesitation, and all the feelings of inadequacy, until you step out in faith and find Him faithful to do in and through you all that He has promised.

“When God does a miracle, you believe Him for bigger and better miracles the next time. That’s how you steward miracles—you up the ante. You keep leapfrogging by faith until one day you look back and can hardly believe how far you’ve come with God’s help.” Mark Batterson, Chase the Lion, p. 97

Believe the truth of God’s word that tells us clearly that it is in our weakness that He is strong (2 Corinthians 12:9, 10) and that we have been granted everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3).

Our weakness is never to be used as an excuse, no matter how real it feels or how LOUD it roars and complains against the assignment of God. It is rather to be boasted in, that the glory of God may shine through our lives.

Step out in faith on the waters of obedience.

Step out and walk in bold confidence in Him Who is able to do exceedingly beyond all that you can ask or imagine, through you! (Ephesians 3:20)

“By definition a God-sized dream is bigger than you are. You don’t have the time, talent, or treasure to pull it off. Without divine intervention it’s destined to fail.” ….p. 95

What God-sized task is before you today? Take a step of faith today.

-What God-sized dream do you currently have on your heart? Write about it and ask God for more vision.

–Be in the Word today and do what He says. What truth did He highlight and call you to? It is those who hear and act upon the word that build their house upon the rock and can withstand the storm (Luke 6:46-49).

Step out in faith in Him.  Trust Him.

“.. for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and show themselves most effective in [your] weakness. Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me! So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful in divine strength).” 2 Corinthians 12:9, 10 Amplified Bible

Light Shines in the Darkness

From the Heart of God:

I call forth the sun to shine

And the stars to display their beauty, as each is revealed in the night sky.

Day and night has its own beauty.

Some beauty only revealed in the sunshine, and others only seen in the dark.

Seasons change.

There is day and there is night,

So that you may see different aspects of My beauty and love and grandeur.

Do not be afraid of the dark.

Darkness will come, but look up!

Fix your eyes on Me, the Author and Perfector of your faith.

Eyes on Me.

Though the earth should change and the mountains slip into the heart of the sea,

you need not fear.

I am a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1, 2).

My love for you is unfailing.

Look ‘there’ (at My great love for you).

Trust ‘there’, ‘eyes on Me’, and cling to hope.

You will hope once again.

Great light will shine forth in darkness.

Allow Me to shine brightly through you and dispel darkness. It need not overtake you.

As the world, in fear, cries out in essence, “The sky is falling, the sky is falling,”

My people will have a quiet confidence in Me,
that I will give.

Take it.

I am your refuge and strength, but you must take it to have it.

Cling to My Word and My Promises.

The world is continually trying to “make crooked the straight ways of the Lord” (Acts 13:10), but the world does not change My ways.

No matter how many times they may change their opinion,

My Word stands true and unchanging and CONSTANT.

Be a lighthouse, immovable, showing THE WAY,

warning others as they navigate dangerous waters.

Let your light shine, showing, “This is the ROCK, this is solid ground”

and warning them to navigate carefully as My word is unmovable and irrevocable.

I cause storms, and I am able to make them perfectly calm (Psalm 107:25, 29).

Be those who hear and DO the Word, that your house may stand (Matthew 7:24).

Be ready to give an answer for the hope that you have in the midst of the storm.

They will see a great light. Let it be Me.

Shine for My glory, that they too may glorify My name.

Hi friends,

This was originally posted in 2013 on my blogspot, and it is a word that comes to mind so often and still speaks so loudly to my heart. I hope it does the same for you. For those of you who are personally facing dark days, I pray that it speaks encouragement and strengthens your resolve to trust Him and His love. He is so trustworthy and full of love for you. You are not alone, and you WILL hope again. Take His confidence, and cling to His promises. Your life is a beautiful testimony of His glory.

With love,

Obedience Frames an Abundant Life

“He restores my soul;
He guides me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.”
Psalm 23:3

 From God’s Heart:

“My mission of love is to find willing hearts to be My hands and feet and passion, for My Name’s sake.
Obedience will frame an abundant life.”

Jesus came that we may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). And He “is able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us” (Ephesian 3:20), but it is within the confines of a life of obedience that our beautiful life masterpiece is painted.

So many people want the abundant life and yet resist a life of pure obedience. We fool ourselves if we think we will find it any other way.

“If anyone advocates a different doctrine and does not agree with sound words, those of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the doctrine conforming to godliness, he is conceited and understands nothing,..” 1 Timothy 6:3, 4a

Will He find us faithful and willing? Or in seeking the comfortable life where everyone agrees with us, will we give way to fear, be neutral, and therefore unfaithful? Setting our sights on everyone completely agreeing with us will keep us ineffective, but too often we fall into that ‘silencing’ trap.

Charles Spurgeon wrote more than a century ago, “The present age is so flippant that if a man loves the savior he is a fanatic and if he hates the powers of evil he is a bigot.”*
Let’s make a fresh, new start. Today, for new LIFE.

Here is your personal invitation. CHOOSE not to wait any longer; surrender all and obey. Give Him your yes. It begins here in the secret place** and is lived out in the holy mundaneness of days.

Ask Him to give you a heart that loves Him, His Word, and yearns for His Presence more and more each day. It is a prayer He will gladly honor and is truly what is needed above all else.
Know (experientially) Jesus, a Risen Savior.

The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few (Matthew 9:37).

May we all walk in a manner worthy of Him (Eph. 4:1, Col. 1:10, 1 Thess. 2:12) and allow Him to guide us in paths of righteousness.

“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord; seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.” 2 Peter 1:2, 3

What You Have Been Entrusted With

From the Father’s Heart:

I have entrusted you with many things. I have. They are not random or “not meant for you” or yours by mistake, by chance, or indeterminately.

I have personally given and entrusted them to you. Therefore, there is purpose and responsibility involved in the gifting.

What I give, I give with foresight and purpose, which is understandably not always understandable.*

But all of life can be understood and sure, as you trust Me and see all of life through the great promises of My Word (with a sure foundation- Isaiah 28:16, 2 Timothy 2:19- to stand upon where your foot will never slip too far- Psalm 121:3).

You will have trouble, but take heart (John 16:33). You can incomprehensibly face great trouble, fiery trials (1 Peter 4:12), and suffering (Phil. 1:29) with Peace, having great hope (not in your own ability as that is not ever the linchpin, but) in MY power to make any impossibility possible (Mark 10:27).

Why? Because the God of all peace is right here with you, right by your side (always), never leaving you, NEVER forsaking you (no matter what), and never giving up on you (Deut. 31:6).

Making the impossible possible is only one of My specialties. I have many, many other impossible specialties. Wouldn’t you like to press in and believe Me for them? Wouldn’t you like to see the impossible? Wouldn’t you like to have faith that moves MOUNTAINS (Matt. 17:20)?

You are invited.

Come join the party-

the celebration of heaven on earth,
moving ‘things,’
with clarity,….

Come take of all that is stored up for you. Mounds and mounds piled high of potential, of gifts, of bold confidence to take Me up on My promises, to make it through any fiery trial victoriously, purified, and the better for walking through it.

Fight and squeeze every ounce of treasure out of the trials.

You are a warrior. Don’t neglect using the weapons that have been given and entrusted to your use, weapon that are powerful for the destruction of strongholds (2 Cor. 10:4), weapons of righteousness for the left hand and the right (2 Cor. 6:9).

I call you a mighty warrior.

Take back any ground that has been given over knowingly and unknowingly.  Arise, walk the land, and write down what is yours -Joshua 18:3,4-(it is so clear in My Word, and My Word is for you). Go possess your ‘inner ground.’  Consider what you have unwittingly handed over and where you are ‘agreeing’ with the enemy (who is always a liar) and stop.

That’s harder than it sounds, and YET easier than it seems.

You are built to do HARD things.

Go, trust Me, face to the sky, eyes on Me, with a heart of JOY, in believing.

Allow this to be your new motto, replacing any current one running like a tape in your head convincing you that you ‘can’t…..’:

“Though a host encamp against me,
My heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me,
In spite of this I shall be confident.” Psalm 27:3

*(like the call to fully know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge 🙂 – Eph. 3:19)

Eradicate Spiritual Hunger

“Jesus said to them, ‘I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in Me shall never thirst.'” John 6:35

Lord, what is on Your heart?

Love. Great love, for the lost and the broken, the captive and the poor. People are held captive by a broken system, a broken tradition, a broken call. There was a point that the church stopped following My heart and just started following what I was doing with other people.

Stop looking sideways, and look to Me. I always have plans, so you don’t have to author your own; just develop and walk them out, in close dependence upon Me. My plan is to prosper you, Church: to wash you in the Word, to see you filled with the Spirit and walking by the Spirit, that you go and make disciples, teaching them all that I have commanded you.

I am with you.

Speak forth and give people My courage; it will ignite them from their ‘sleep,’

to know,

not that they HAVE to do __(this)___, ___(this)____, and __(that)__, but that they get to and are well able to do________, ___________,  ________, and all that I call them to.

My love will awaken My children to know that they have purpose in the kingdom

and will cause them to be heavenly-minded, living today and each day for that day to come (1 John 2:28).

Stop today’s routine daily-ness and look up.

Eternity is in the balance. Who will go and take as many as possible with them?

Love them.

Speak up.

Speak forth.

Be a missionary, a training center, in your city. Let’s get things done.

I am well able. To move mountains. Let’s have a movement of prayer here, for these people and your city.

Eradicate spiritual hunger. May I always be found, THE Bread of Life. May no one in your sphere of influence starve.

love well..

live well..

go be BOLD..

Lo, I am with you, even to the end of the age (Matthew 28:20).

-Who will you be praying for? And who is God calling you to speak His truth to? Follow through on that calling.

-Who will you be praying for? And who is God calling you to speak His truth to? Follow through on that calling. He is with you and is always the Difference Maker.

Is it Wrong to Pray for Our Wants?

Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will lead you to desire what He desires.

Recently I was longing for some confirmation, and as soon as the thought, “I wonder if I could just ask for it?” crossed my mind, it was immediately followed by the mocking taunt, “Gimme, gimme, gimme!” as if it was shameful to always be wanting and asking for more for myself.

In keeping with the childlike faith theme this past week, I was struck with this thought to ponder :

Isn’t that the attitude the Lord wants us to have with Him as His children?

Is it wrong to be in a constant, dependent childlike “gimme, gimme” attitude when He alone HAS all that we need and says, “Apart from Me you can do nothing” (John 15:5)?

Shouldn’t this be our posture, rather than a childish self-sufficient, independent attitude of “I can do it myself”?

I think that it delights Him as we come to Him in childlike faith, asking for our needs and desires and for more of what we are so dependent upon Him to give.

We are instructed to ask.

Ask, seek, knock (Matthew 7:7).

You do not have because you do not ask (James 4:2). (But ask for the right reasons: “You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.” v. 3)

Ask whatever you wish and it will be given (John 15:7, 1 John 3:22, 5:14, 15).

Ask anything in My name and I will do it (John 14:12, 13, 14).

And because He does His work through us and longs for us to have all that we need for that work, it is not only okay to ask for a lot for ourselves, it is necessary.

God has called us all to God-sized tasks. May we never try to accomplish them in our own strength or with our own finite power, energy, or resources when we are in relationship with One Who is infinite and promises to provide.

Seeking for ourselves becomes an overflow of His goodness to others and produces change.

As the Lord puts His desires upon our hearts, may we not allow the enemy to shame us for asking for what we need and want and long for. Resist the enemy’s lie that it is selfish. All that we ask for and what God provides us will be poured out to grow others’ faith. Have it to give.

Be free to be a “gimme, gimme” dependent child of God.

Never be satisfied. Want more.

What do you want?

And what does God want you to want?

Come to Him AS a child.

The Power of Childlike Faith

“God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity we plan to do only the things we can do by ourselves.” A.W. Tozer

“On the day I called, You answered me;
You made me bold with strength in my soul.” Psalm 138:3

From the Father’s Heart:

My child, My child.

That title doesn’t make you ‘little.’ It makes you powerful.

You are called a child of God (1 John 3:1), which not only gives you access (Hebrews 4:16,10:19) to Me and to all you need (2 Peter 1:3- even what you are not aware that you need), but it also provides you with authority, inheritance, and a bold confidence.*

All that lasts and is real, is done by abiding in Me (John 15:4,5), in dependence upon Me, in the exact positioning you have as My child in childlike faith (Mark 10:15).

You know, children can believe in the impossible; they do not necessarily think reasonably and rationally. And see, I’m not reasonable or rational (according to your limited human perspective).

“For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:9

“Reasonably” and “rationally” are not how I work. So you can lay down any resistance you feel to what I am currently doing, where you have determined that the way I am leading you is not reasonable, rational, or possible. That’s the ‘space’ I move in.

So ‘it’ doesn’t have to make sense. Just trust and know that I am leading you.

And leading you I am.

The ‘knowing what to do’ is like a light burning brightly within you. Ask yourself, “Why do I want to extinguish it? What am I afraid of?” Where does the distrust that I can lead you and that you can trust My leadership come from? Find out and let’s ‘work’ there.  Because if you can extinguish that low level, quiet distrust instead, you will find a spacious place of freedom to walk in.

And you will walk in bold confidence in who I say that you are and how I am ABLE to lovingly lead you through what seems impossible and improbable.

Even as you read this, there is a sweet taste of it, a sense of “yes, that is possible”

to live in that sweet spot of

and trust

and confidence,

following as I lead you as an overcomer (Romans 8:31-39).

-What has God recently asked you to do that you have deemed unreasonable and irrational?

-Press in and ask Him to grow “mustard seed faith” in you (Luke 17:6).

“For the Lord will be (at your side) your confidence.” Prov. 3:26

“Though a host encamp against me,

My heart will not fear;

Though war arise against me,

In spite of this I shall be confident.” Ps 27:3

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing,

But the righteous are bold (confident) as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1

*Confidence (3954) Greek word- parresia- Freedom or frankness in speaking. NT meanings: freedom in speaking all that one thinks or pleases; confidence or boldness, particularly in speaking; freedom, liberty. Especially in Hebrews and 1 John the word denotes confidence which is experienced with such things as faith in communion with God, fulfilling the duties of the evangelist, holding fast our hope, and acts which entail a special exercise of faith. Parresia is possible as the result of guilt having been removed by the blood of Jesus… and manifests itself in confident praying and witnessing.
